This Privacy Policy describes how the JumpHigh Project (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, and deletes user information in the high-jump form analysis service “JumpHigh” (the “Service”). Please read it together with the Terms of Service.
Information We Collect
- Account information: username, a password hash (scrypt; the plaintext is never stored), and an account identifier (for identity verification and history). We do not collect email addresses
- Uploaded videos: high-jump videos you upload and the shooting metadata you enter (camera position, bar height, etc.)
- Analysis results: generated artifacts such as skeleton estimation, phase classification, and metrics
- Technical information: server logs such as access time, IP address, and errors (for abuse prevention and quality improvement; logs do not record email addresses or original file names)
- Advertising-related information: when ads are shown on the analysis progress screen, our advertising provider (Google) may collect your IP address, user agent, cookies or device identifiers, and information about the ad placement. We never pass your uploaded videos, analysis results, metrics, or user identifiers to the advertising provider — not via URL parameters, referrer, or custom targeting
Purposes of Use
- Analyzing videos and providing results (the core function of the Service)
- Identity verification, history retention, and per-user access control
- Detecting and preventing abuse and attacks (including malware scanning)
- Showing ads to fund part of the cost of operating the Service (on the analysis progress screen only; see Section 8)
- Only if you opt in: model retraining (Section 5) and research sharing (Section 6)
Retention and Deletion
Uploaded data is automatically deleted on the following schedule.
| Data | Retention |
| Source videos (original upload, server-generated preview, trimmed video) | About 24 hours from upload (up to 48 hours depending on the automated deletion cycle) |
| Analysis results (skeleton video, metrics, reports) | About 30 days from completion (up to 31 days depending on the automated deletion cycle) |
The retention periods above apply to data we hold; they do not apply to cookies set by our advertising provider (see Section 8).
You can also request permanent deletion of your videos and results at any time from the history screen. Deletion covers the source video, preview, results, and the management record, and normally completes immediately (if an analysis of that video is running, deletion completes automatically after it finishes).
Age and Consent of Filmed Athletes
There is no age restriction on using the service for analysis only. If the athlete in the video is not you, or is a minor, you must confirm at upload time that the athlete (or their guardian, if a minor) has consented. This confirmation is required regardless of your age.
By contrast, opting in to use your uploaded video for model retraining or for research / third-party sharing requires confirming that you are 18 years of age or older. Unless you select one of those opt-ins, your video is used only to run the analysis and no age confirmation is requested. If you are a minor and wish to opt in with your guardian's consent, please upload from your guardian's account.
Use for Model Retraining (Opt-in)
We use an uploaded video for model retraining only if you explicitly opt in at upload time. The opt-in is off by default, and all features of the Service work without it. Videos uploaded before July 18, 2026 are treated as not opted in and are not used for retraining.
Research and Third-Party Sharing (Opt-in)
We may provide data to research institutions or other third parties, or use it for research, in a form that does not identify any individual, only if you explicitly opt in at upload time. This opt-in is independent of the retraining opt-in in the previous section and is off by default. Uploads made before July 18, 2026 are not shared.
Third-Party Services and Storage Location
- Authentication: no external identity provider (handled entirely within the Service)
- Infrastructure: videos, results, and management records are stored on Amazon Web Services (Tokyo region) with server-side encryption
- Delivery: Cloudflare is used as the delivery path
- Bot protection: the sign-in page may use Cloudflare Turnstile (when enabled, your IP address and browser behaviour are sent to Cloudflare as you load and submit the sign-in form)
- Advertising: we may use Google AdSense on the analysis progress screen only (non-personalized ads by default)
- Consent management: for visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we obtain consent for advertising cookies through Google's consent management platform (Privacy & messaging)
Beyond the above, we do not provide personal information to third parties without your consent, except as required by law.
Cookies and Advertising
The Service uses HttpOnly cookies to maintain your login session.
In addition, part of the cost of operating the Service is funded by advertising, and we may show ads on the analysis progress screen only. Our advertising provider (Google) may set cookies or device identifiers for this purpose. Ads are not shown on the upload, trimming, results, sign-in, or legal pages.
- We serve non-personalized ads by default. We do not deliver ads based on an interest profile of you
- We never send your uploaded videos, analysis results, metrics, or user identifiers to the advertising provider — not via URL parameters, referrer, or custom targeting. The provider receives only ordinary delivery information such as IP address, user agent, and ad placement
- For visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we obtain consent through Google's consent management platform (Privacy & messaging) before loading any ad tag. If consent is not given, no ad tag is loaded
- See policies.google.com/technologies/ads for how Google uses information in advertising, and manage your ad settings at adssettings.google.com
- Blocking ads through your browser settings or an ad blocker does not limit any feature of the Service
Security Measures
We apply TLS encryption in transit, server-side encryption at rest, malware scanning of uploads, per-user access control, and removal of personal information from logs.
Requests for Disclosure, Correction, and Deletion
You may request disclosure, correction, or deletion of your information. Deletion can be performed immediately from the history screen, or by contacting us.
Changes to This Policy
When we change this policy, we will announce it on this page and update the version. For material changes, we will ask for renewed consent at your next upload.
